Hilariously i am used to following the book instructions to the letter, and on this page they miss out 'change the colour' and 'change mode to multiply'. However, the dropshadow is showing up more like a white glow than a black shadow. I am extremely grateful for your help with this! Thank you!Īhhhhhhh!!!!!!! I have just figured it out - it's the COLOUR OF THE DROP SHADOW!!!! It's still white!!! Ahahahahaha. So I then drop this path composition into my main composition where I can position it over the map and give it a white stroke and a dropshadow. I have the transparency on the layer you mentioned. The layer i am trying to add the drop shadow to is the image on the left of the first screen shot - as you see there is no drop shadow (and still isn't after i press ok on these settings). Close the dialogue box without changing the settings. This now sets the effect to those options. However, in either of these settings - the drop shadow doesn't apply to the layer at all. Select the object you want to copy the effect from, then open the Appearance palette double-click the effect you want to copy and itll open the dialogue box for that effect with the settings of that object. Drag the Drop Shadow effect onto your timeline layer or directly onto the composition scene. Open the Effects & Presets panel using either Command+5 on a Mac or Ctrl+5 on a PC.
The drop shadow applies to the little preview box if I leave the blend mode as 'screen' but disappears if i change the blend mode to 'multiply'. Click on the T text function and type the text you want.
Hello Dave, thank you very much for replying to me.
